It will be a useful collaboration tool for the department. Perhaps the most useful feature will be the File Sharing option. Folders will be able to be created by users and certain permissions given to other users. This will eliminate the need to send large files by email (which has a size restriction) and if multiple users require the file, those users can be directed to the Wiki.

ReplyDeletegreat idea - we could shift data off the V drive for starters, V drive is only accessible when on campus. And from that primitive base we could develop real collaboration as we develop documents - perhaps for the retreat?
ReplyDeleteYes Colin, being able to use a "V Drive like system" online (file sharing) was the main idea behind this, and a Wiki was able to tick those boxes. Not sure if it will be functioning in time for the Retreat however.
