Thing #15: Web 2.0 and the Future of Marketing

Here's an interesting article on Social Media Marketing.

Social Media is a great marketing tool, but one that an organisation cannot completely control. With user's contributing content (example blog post comments, tweets mentioning the product or service and retweets) an organisation is not able to control this. In some cases they may be able to censor any unwanted contents (example blog posts) but this may be to an organisations detriment. Organisations could and should use any such comments to learn and improve and addressing any issues in such a public space may turn the negative into a positive.
