I found Delicious to be like a search engine, such as Google, but for popular sites, not just sites that match a particular search string.
I use an online bookmarking site called Startaid and Delicious hasn't convinced me to switch to it. Perhaps if I had a direct need to share bookmarks I might make the switch.
